Bernice F. Zahn, age 99 of Clintonville formerly of the Town of Pella, Shawano County passed away Wednesday morning August 24, 2022 at Aster Assisted Living in Clintonville.

Bernice Francis (Schmidt) Zahn was born on December 18, 1922 in the Town of Red Springs Shawano County to William and Alma (Otto) Schmidt. She grew up with her 2 brothers and 2 sisters attending Roosevelt Grade School. Later, Bernice worked in Milwaukee and was united in marriage to Roy C. Zahn on April 7, 1945 at Elias Lutheran Church in Gresham. The couple farmed on Roy’s home farm in the Town of Pella until they sold the farm in 1972 because of Roy’s health and moved to Clintonville. After moving to Clintonville Bernice worked in the kitchen at the Clintonville Hospital until her retirement. Bernice loved gardening and always had beautiful flower beds. She was active as a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Pella helping with funeral lunches and their fall dinners. Bernice enjoyed playing cards; especially sheephead and spent many hours doing plastic canvas needlepoint as well as other crafts. She was also a fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed the friends she made while living at Aster since 2013.

Bernice is survived by her sister Irene Jarvais of Bear Creek. Also numerous nieces, nephews & great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews from both the Schmidt and Zahn sides of the family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy on July 12, 1998, a sister Margaret (Edwin) Ready, and brothers Milton (Laura) Schmidt & Sylvester (Ruby) Schmidt as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 11am at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with Rev. Timothy Lofgren officiating. Entombment will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens in Green Bay. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10am until the time of the service. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Elias Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choice.
